Since 1896, KCB Bank group has grown to become the region's largest banking institution with an asset base of KES 607 billion (+USD 5.9B), a market capitalization of KES 142 billion (+USD 1.3B) and broad regional distribution in 6 Eastern Africa countries (over 269 branches, 11489 agents and 962 ATMs).

Our commitment to sound corporate governance goes back to our very early days. This commitment is reflected and explained in the KCB Annual Report and also informs our day-to-day business behavior.

KCB Bank Uganda was incorporated in 2007, and has quickly grown to have presence in the major business towns of the country. Currently, the Bank has 16 branches and 18 ATMs in Kampala, Jinja, Mbale, Lira, Gulu, Arua, Hoima, FortPortal and Mbarara.

    CHAIRMAN

    Mr. Sekalala Jr. is a holder of BSC Chemical Engineering from the University of New Mexico Albuquerque, USA and an Alumni of Harvard Business School.
    He is also the Executive Director of Ugachick Poultry Breeders Ltd, Executive Chairman of Africa FM Ltd - Radio Simba, Director at Sekalala Ltd, and Director at Uvan Ltd. Mr. Sekalala also sits on the Board of the Uganda Investment Authority and Uganda Manufacturers Association.

  • Edgar Eric Omoto Edgar Eric Omoto DIRECTOR ×

    DIRECTOR

    Edgar has over 30 years of progressive administrative and management experience in telecom and fuel distribution sectors spanning several African markets including Kenya, Ethiopia and Djibouti.

    He holds an MBA from Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia-Canada and a first class Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from the University of Nairobi.

    DIRECTOR

    Gertrude is qualified as a commercial lawyer and is a Partner and the Corporate and Commercial Practice Head at Sebalu & Lule Advocates.

    Gertrude holds a Master of Law of the University of Cambridge (Queens), a Bachelor of Laws of Makerere University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.

    Gertrude is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society and is a Commissioner for Oaths and Notary Public.

    Gertrude serves on the boards of Lion Assurance Company, Financial Sector Deepening Uganda Limited, KCB Bank Uganda Ltd and League of East African Directors.

  • Apollo Obbo Apollo Obbo DIRECTOR ×

    DIRECTOR

    Apollo Obbo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce and a Master of Arts in Economics of Makerere
    University. He is a seasoned banker with a 28 year experience. He played a pivotal role in Bank of Uganda’s
    success story of a sound and stable financial sector.
    Prior to his appointment as director KCB Bank Uganda, Apollo Obbo worked with the Bank of Uganda.
    Obbo joined Bank of Uganda in 1984 as a Banking officer and sailed through positions to be the Director
    / Head of the Supervision Department in 2005 a position he held till 2011.

    DIRECTOR

    He was appointed to the Board of KCB Bank Uganda in the year 2011. He holds a Doctorate in Business Leadership, an MBA and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. He is also a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Certified Accountants of UK (FCCA). He has held several senior roles in multinational organizations, and this has exposed him to a range of Strategic leadership dynamics.

    Paul has over 13 years’ progressive senior and executive Human Resources Management experience with extensive involvement in enterprise service delivery, organizational design, human capital optimization, employee relations, people transformation and change. He has held national and regional roles in Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa and Africa regional management. He has worked for Barclays, PricewaterhouseCoopers, K-Rep Bank, Unga Limited and East African Breweries Limited. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Business Management) (Hons) from Moi University, Kenya; a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from Institute of Human Resource Management, Kenya; and an MBA from Strathmore Business School, Strathmore University, Kenya

    Samuel is KCB Chief Business Officer and MD Kenya. He has over 20 years experience in Banking Institutions and 10 years in executive management in strategic leadership and business development. Prior to joining KCB, he was the Managing Director, Equity Bank Tanzania. Other previously held roles include: General Manager, Equity Bank Limited; Executive Director, Bank of Africa (BOA), Uganda and Regional Head, Consumer Banking Operations for Africa, Standard Chartered Bank. He holds a Masters in Organizational Leadership from the International Leadership University, Nairobi, Kenya a BSc in Engineering from the University of Nairobi and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, London, UK (ACIB).

    Banalekaki Francis Yiga, FCCA CFE holds an MBA from UMI,he is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Makerere University. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and holds a Diploma in Risk Management.
    Francis has worked in various banks in Uganda and has over 15 years Internal Audit experience.

    HEAD OF OPERATIONS

    William Mawejje joins KCB Bank Uganda as Head of Operations from Centenary Bank Uganda where he worked as Chief Manager Branch Operations, in charge of a network of over 65 branches.
    William has over 16 years’ banking experience and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics (Computing) and a Masters of Arts degree in Financial Services, both from Makerere University. He is a PRINCE2TM - Project Management Practitioner.
    He has hitherto served in various capacities in IT, Projects and Operations in UBA and Stanbic Bank and recently as Chief Manager Branch Operations at Centenary Bank.

  • IBRAHIM SENYONGA IBRAHIM SENYONGA HEAD OF RETAIL ×

    HEAD OF RETAIL

    Ibrahim holds an MBA (Finance) from Leicester University, MCIPS from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, Asset and Liabilities Management (INSEAD) and holds a  Bachelor ins Business Administration (Accounting) from Makerere University. Prior to his appointment he was a regional manager in Dfcu Metropolitan Kampala. He joined KCB Uganda from from Dfcu Bank where he worked for 12 years.

  • Bruno Muhindi Bruno Muhindi Head of Finance ×

    Head of Finance

    Bruno has over 10 years’ progressive experience in Finance at various levels in the banking sector. He joined the bank in June 2017. Bruno’s immediate posting was Head of Finance and Administration at NC Bank Uganda Limited and prior to this, he held various finance roles in DFCU Bank Uganda Limited.

    He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Administration from Uganda Martyrs University. 

    He was presented with the Young CFO of the Year award during the Uganda Annual CFO Awards in 2017 by ACCA and Deloitte Uganda.

  • Francis Matete Francis Matete Head Of Information Technology ×

    Head Of Information Technology

    Francis holds a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics & Computer Science) from Makerere University. He is a certified PRINCE2 Practitioner and is certified in Governance of Enterprise IT and pursuing a Master’s Degree in ICT.

    Francis has previously held various positions as head of IT/Projects, Manager ITSM and Principal Network Administrator. He has over 10 years’ experience in driving technology in banking environments.

  • Phinias Isindu Phinias Isindu HEAD OF CREDIT ×

    HEAD OF CREDIT

    Phinias is an experienced Head of Credit with a demonstrated history working in various roles at KCB Bank. He began his Banking career with KCB Bank Kenya in 1989 as the Credit Analyst and moved on to take up roles in Credit Support and Regional Portfolio Management prior to his appointment as Head of Credit, in 2013. Phinias has skills in Credit Risk, Banking, Credit Analysis, Financial Analysis, and Credit. He is a strong finance professional with a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) focused in Entrepreneurship from Kenya Methodist University.

     

  • Richard Rwegasira Richard Rwegasira Head of Treasury ×

    Head of Treasury

    Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Maryland, USA, and a Dealing Certificate from the global ACI Financial Markets Association headquartered in France.

    He joins KCB Bank Uganda with 9 years Treasury experience, including at subsidiaries of regional banks such as Barclays Bank in Tanzania.  He has held progressive roles in Treasury including Senior Deal – Corporate and Institutional Sales, Head – Treasury Sales and Structured Products, and Head of Treasury, the position he held most recently at Exim Bank Uganda.
