Marketing and Communications Manager (Head)

JOB PURPOSE

  • Reporting to the Executive Director; this role will be to lead the translation of KCB Bank Uganda Strategy into actionable marketing plans across all products and services offered through various Business and Non-Business units within the bank namely Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, Digital Financial Services, Treasury and KCB Foundation
  • The role holder will be expected to ensure meaningful outcomes including brand affinity, customer acquisition, engagement, product/service usage, commercialization growth (top line and bottom line) to support the KCB Businesses’ overall profitability and balance sheet growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership, strategic direction and management within the Marketing Department supporting Business and Non-Business Units and ensure alignment of the activities with the overall Bank Strategy and Brand guidelines.
  • Lead the implementation of campaigns for key customer value propositions in line with the bank’s strategic ambitions.
  • Lead the development of annual Marketing and Communication plans to support all Business Units to drive growth and usage and engage cross functional teams in the development & implementation of the plans.
  • Develop and execute the digital marketing & content strategy, campaigns, social media, and online assets to drive brand engagement and consideration through strongly engaged online communities and influencers across various platforms, apps and channels while driving down cost per acquisition.
  • Proactively manage and protect the organization's brand reputation, addressing potential issues and implementing crisis communication strategies when necessary.
  • Define and execute sponsorships and sports assets strategy in conjunction with Business functions and countries to drive customer engagement, consideration, and affinity.
  • Support the products and projects teams in design and development of innovative products and services that are responsive to market needs, as well as refining existing products in response to market and customer dynamics.
  • Work collaboratively with the team and other Business and Non-Business Functions to design effective and efficient strategies and initiatives for product and service growth
  • Effective management of the budget allocated, adherence to policies and process and Service Level Agreements with all key stakeholders.
  • Curiously monitor market dynamics on banking and financial services products, including competitor analysis on product introduction, promotional activities on all product/service categories to enhance effective benchmarking, planning and competitive alignment of the Bank’s products and services.
  • Ensure internal brand alignment in staff campaigns or engagement platforms in a bid to truly position KCB as an Employer of Choice.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviewing Business Unit strategies and tracking progress against commitments.
  • Engaging Heads of Business and the Managing Director on progress, emerging business opportunities, risks and responding accordingly.
  • Preparation of high-level business marketing performance reports for consumption of Executive leadership.
  • Establish solid routines with all stakeholders and ensure monitoring and tracking of execution
  • Mentor and coach the team at all levels to ensure clarity, provide guidance and build all aspects of the team members.
