Judy Wambaire is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and a member of both the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society, with over 10 years of experience in Banking Law and Practice. She has built significant expertise as an in-house counsel within the financial services sector.
She serves as Company Secretary and Head of Legal at KCB Bank Uganda Limited, providing departmental leadership and strategic legal oversight. In this role, she leads a high-performing legal team and is responsible for general counsel advisory, operational execution of corporate governance frameworks and ensuring compliance with the Bank’s governance policies and procedures. She is recognised for embedding the legal function as a trusted business partner within the institution. Prior to her current role, she served as Head Legal and Company Secretary at United Bank for Africa (Uganda) Limited.
Judy holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons) from Makerere University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre. She also holds a Certificate in the Law of Mergers and Acquisitions from the London School of Economics and Political Science and has completed various senior leadership programmes. Judy is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of East London and serves as Chairperson of the Uganda Bankers Association - Legal Committee.
