Timothy Wilkins Okanya is a seasoned Corporate and Investment Banking professional with over 18 years of experience in the banking sector. He is widely regarded for his depth in complex corporate structuring, credit and risk governance, portfolio optimisation and strategic client leadership across large local, regional and multinational institutions.
He has led substantial corporate portfolios across Uganda, East Africa and the broader African market, shaping financing solutions that drive growth while upholding rigorous risk discipline. His career reflects consistent stewardship of high-value relationships, participation in executive and credit committee decision-making and oversight of sophisticated balance sheet exposures within dynamic market cycles. Prior to joining KCB Bank (Uganda) Limited, he served as Head of Large Local and Regional Corporates within the Corporate and Investment Banking function at Absa Bank Uganda, where he directed a significant portfolio spanning Uganda, East Africa and the wider African region.
Timothy is known for combining commercial acuity with governance strength, aligning strategic ambition with prudent risk management and sustainable value creation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance), is a graduate of the Strathmore Senior Manager Leadership Development Programme and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at Strathmore Business School.
